This is very poor explanation. If dogs are jumping because they have strong smell and sound sense and poor eye sight, they can locate the source of the smell too. So they can understand the smell is coming from deep bellow. Same goes for sound. Why they will jump if they can understand that the smell or sound is coming from deep bellow? I think it's related to the bridge design. Maybe it reflects and gather the smell or sounds in such way so that it seems the smell or sound is coming from on same perspective level.
If humans jumped over the bridge they'd build fence over the ledges instead of simply put warning signs
Is it to much to ask for, specially if there is a record of jumping dogs in this bridge, to install a net undernead the friking bridge to save all dogs, instead of wondering what the heck is going on with the dogs, and star to save those beautiful lives..
This is why I keep my dog on a short leash.

read lots of comments about squirrels in tress across the river ?? cut down the fucking trees problem solved or better yet issue fines for pet owners to cross bridge with pets .. that way local government can pretend to actively top the problem while at same time not only not spending anything to solve it but drum up revenue for yearly office Christmas party and weekend keggers
Came here because this is currently on TV and paused it to put in my 2 cents .. Dogs leap unexplained to death multiple times same bridge same spot ? are people simply to stupid to test 2 easily explained theories ? wind traveling along the river / stream coming up to bridge creates a noise unheard by humans like a dog whistle at times and lures dogs to jump? or possibly a bakery or smokehouse upwind that channels the smell of BACON or such to cause dogs to run after the smell of BACON but then again many a male human would also be jumping off or at least be at the very spot blocking the dogs from jumping because the male human is locked into that position from the smell of BACON .. either way like many of these shows they actually find the reason and it is determined to be to boring for TV so they leave it as a cliff hangar and unexplained simply because they run out of ideas for good TV shows.

I just watched a video about this. Apparently its something to do with minx & male minx urine, the smell to dogs is extremely nice and they don't realise that there is a drop when they're ontop of the bridge/getting off. Their was also a lot of minx nests down there when they checked etc ☺ minx smell (especially male urine) makes dogs go crazy!

How would putting signs up help the dogs can't read them.
They aren't high up before the bridge and cant see over the wall but it isnt that high so they dont think its trying to stop them and don't realize what they're getting into.
I'm surprised that not many people think or suspect that the bridge may be cursed or haunted by a ghost or other unseen spiritual entity somehow possessing or making these dogs to jump to their deaths. Animals are said and believed to see ghosts or other unseen paranormal activity which humans can't detect. It could be that as a possible theory to why these poor dogs jump off the bridge.
