Hi how long does it take to heating water and ready to use?
Good day, great video,thanks- Using Unica for the past 10 years, this morning the temperature indicated on PID couldn't exceed 32 C, Switched off and on didn't seem to alter ..Could you think of any causes ??
lost me at single boiler.
I don’t understand the use of the pump switch. Manual says to turn it on when you first get the machine, and here you say turn it on after steaming, but for how long?
Another great review, when pulling the shot in your video it looks like the pressure is up at nearly 12bar do you think this would benefit by being turned down to 10bar on the gauge to get 9 at the group head ?
I have just purchased a Unica its my first espresso machine so I’m trying to get it dailed in and I’m not sure if the pressure is too high and trowing me off.
Thanks
Hi, I have one question: is the OVP adjustable in the UNICA in the same way as you demonstrated in the MAGICA?
With thanks and regards,
Matteo
Hey AJ and Marc, I’m looking to upgrade from my Gaggia Classic Pro (gift it to my daughters in their new apt). With the pressure spring mod I did to the Gaggia, it’s hard to find anything I would really consider an intelligent upgrade until you reach the Bezerra Unica and EMC Classica. I’ve was considering the EMC Casa V, but hard to swallow the addition of a pressure Gauge is worthy of $500 more. Any thoughts? Thx for sharing your knowledge with us espresso newbies. Would like to purchase from you within the next few weeks. Thx
Hey as. I'm looking to get an espresso entry level I guess, and when I went to you site and looked at the comments for this machine, most were very positive, but one was a bit concerning. The fella stated that the seal on the boiler gives out in 1-2 years, and is kind of common even with higher end bezerras? Any truth to that? I'm looking at the Gaggia pro, but am a little undecided at this point as it seems to have a couple of key limitations such as steam, heat consistency, no pid etc. I do know those can be overcome by starting the steam about 10 seconds before light goes on, and flushing a bit of water right before starting the espresso extraction, so it's not a real big deal. The price is very attractive of course, and it sounds like a machine that will be easy to overhaul if something goes wonky. The Berezza seem store "electronics in nature, and I'm not sure I could overhaul it myself if the electronics go wonky. And the possible seal issue is a bit concerning too. If done right, will the Gaggia give quality espressos fairly consistently? Any other models you might suggest? Or is the Gaggia pretty much the true workhorse of the entry level category? Thanks.
I am looking at upgrading and although it is not my first choice to go to another single boiler machine, my budget says otherwise. I think that the Unica offers some awesome features and is a step above the Gaggia Classic or Silva. My concern is that I see reviews for this unit all the way back to 2014. Has this machine been updated since?
Does it work fine if you want to do 2 cappucino back to back? Can you easily brew 2 espresso and then do 2 milk froth?
How does the Unica compares to the BZ13PM? Of course it is cheaper, but is the BZ13 PM the extra money worthy?
Hey WLL, any chance this will be compared in a video to the ECM Classika PID? The stainless boiler, shot timer and flow control option seem to make the price gap up and then some. Just wondering what I’m missing and your through analysis is what I am looking for
Which pulls a better quality shot this or the ECM classika ii Pid? Also I know that the classica you can adjust brew pressure (how many bars) can you do this with the buzzera? Which one would you say is the better pick for espresso? Whole latte love
Thanks for the review. I wonder how much time it takes for this machine to be ready to steam ( after espresso is made )?
Damn good video, however, I wouldn't buy a COPPER boiler. That's a big no no. Also the price is a bit off for a single boiler. A few hundred more and you can get the lelit mara which is a double boiler so why would i get this?
@Whole Latte Love Thanks AJ I will definitely check that out and have taken the Unica off my list. What is your opinion of the Lelit Mara PL62T and the ECM Classika PID in comparison to the BZ10
@Whole Latte Love Thats a good review AJ! I
will have milk based drinks maybe 1-3 times a day. Although I don’t mind having to do a cooling flush or taken an extra minute before I brew after steaming. As some days it will be only 1 drink. So in terms of quality of drink what machine would you recommend the Unica or BZ10? The only thing drawing me to the Unica is the PID. But I am not sure if this alone is a good enough reason to buy the Unica. I guess it also has E61. What is the better machine, what would you buy? Thanks
Is there solenoid valve on the machine?
What is the heating time please ? In term of reliability and expresso quality only, is there a difference between with the BZ10 ? Many Thanks
PID buttons is the only way to switch between brew/steam?
Do you know the actual distance between the start of the front foot and the back of the rear foot? The depth of the machine is given at 16.73"", but I'm trying to determine its actual footprint. Mahalo.
