Hospital management games are spreading like, well, a superbug, with Two Point Hospital recently joined by Project Hospital on PC. Our resident management game obsessive Alice compares the two games to see whether Project Hospital or Two Point Hospital is the best there is.
If you are looking for games like Theme Hospital you’ve got a bit of choice. To be fair to them, both Project Hospital and Two Point Hospital have a very different flavour. One is about dealing with a tidal wave of comic diseases, while the other is a more serious take on the management genre. Which you’re going to enjoy more largely depends on what you want from a game. While this video isn’t a full Project Hospital review or a Two Point Hospital review (you can find one of those at the link below) it hopefully spells out the major differences and gives you an idea of what to expect.
If you want a deeper building experience and more realistic micromanagement, then maybe head to Project Hospital, which gives you more tools to deal with (and more problems to worry about). If you enjoy the puzzle of trying bring order out of the chaos of a swarm of sick people, then Two Point Hospital is the game for you – it’s almost an arcade management game, based on the speed of decision making and the ease of the building experience.
Either way there’s something to recommend about both and they will speak to very different players. If you’ve played either we’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments – what does one do better than the other? Are there lessons they could learn from each other? Two Point Hospital is already improving itself with updates and is becoming more polished by the day, while Project Hospital has a bit further to go.

I Got Both Games…
and like play them both… But if i have to make a choice..
ill pick ''Project Hospital".. WHY? well let me tell.
P.H is way more realistic then T.P.H is, therefore my choice goes there..
Also, P.H is with real illness-ses and stuff, and T.P.H is all made up. another point for Project.
Then there is, that you can follow a doctor and take care of its patients is another one, i love that.
do i need to go on.. NAH dont think so.. have Rambled on for long anough 🙂

I adore my Sims and THPS games for their dumb humor but those games are just dumb… 2PH is like a standup comedian making up bad jokes on the fly and laughing in between every word they say. The tryhard qUiRkY hUmOr of the game really killed my will to play it and the overly simplistic gameplay sealed the deal. It's not a bad game by any means but you either have to connect with the humor or be looking for the gameplay it provides.
I'm studying medical technology in university and I guess Project Hospital could be a quite "productive" way to kill time when it would enable me to learn more about hospital management
Both are very different games so it's not a matter of or but and. I think if you like management games, you should play both. They are both awesome in their own ways.
But Project Hospital is probably one of my most favorite games with Rimworld, Prison Architect and Sims. (Never enjoyed Factorio)
There's Project High Rise for mobile but there's no Project Hospital For Mobile 🙁
Project Hospital is the Best
My head is spinning. I thought there was just two point hospital. Now I find this! argh! I love the micro options but argh! Two point hospital, simpler but I want to see how hospitals deal with pandemic etc. Project Hospital is actually what I hoped the original Theme Hospital to look like.

2PH was on a try for free weekend on steam. I rushed through all the levels that weekend. It was funny and I like the graphics. But felt I was done with it after that weekend. Not sure where to take the game from that point as I basically did everything and saw all the funny illnesses.
PH is more challenging. I'm always afraid I now did something bad and my Hospital won't get out of debt. The camera can now rotate (although in 90 degree steps) and I can actually move rooms (as long as they aren't used, reassigning staff can be a pain and kicking out patients because you want to move the room can be awkward) which makes PH the winner for me. The graphics of PH are good when it comes to the equipment and structures. The people look a bit stiff to me, but it's a matter of taste and I got used to it.
Project Hospital is a million times better.
I enjoyed both games but I got tired of Two Point faster. As a sucker for realism Project Hospital was exactly what I wanted, and as a hospital worker myself I appreciate the accuracy even more. The mods that add several new departments and dozens of new illnesses to the game are a great addition as well.
BUT, what if people dont like realism??
A big difference between the two, and an important one for me, is that Two Point teaches you how to play the game while you're playing it, and Project will require you to spend a lot of time watching other people's tutorial videos instead of playing because it can't be bothered to teach you.
Project Hospital = Simulator. TPH = Arcade.

I wish I had found this vid before buying both games: 2PH is great fun, and life's too short to invest hours into PH while squinting at the screen trying to read tiny font dealing with pseudo-serious over simplified medical stuff. At least mine is : )
2PH is M*A*S*H* while PH is 20 seasons of ER.
Thank you very much. I've been looking at trying out Project hospital and your reveiw has been very useful. BTW You've probably alreay been told this a hundred times but NSAID= non steroidal anti inflammatory drug.
Have played Project Hospital for past 3 days and after watching this video I come to conclusion that I have no interest in Two Point Hospital, while before I was thinking about trying it out too, so thank you!
