It’s not true? But it is…. Coming from a qualified level 3 personal trainer and gym instructor; the hypertrophic range is between 6-12 reps. Any higher and you’ll be working on muscular endurance rather than muscular gain. 1-5 reps is for strength training. There’s a reason we work in correspondence to our 1 rep max. For hypertrophy (muscle building) you should be working at 67%-85% of your 1 rep max to ensure 6-12 reps. Resting for 1-1.5 minutes between sets. Giving your muscles 48hrs to rest before training those specific ones again. Volume won’t help you if you work the same muscles daily. This video is just wrong man I’m sorry. I think you’re great and your physique is great also but please don’t spread misinformation like this. If you’re passionate about fitness then I encourage you to get qualified in the field so that you spread the correct information.

Regardless of what Im exercising for, I always take my time in between reps and definitely always work out until failure. I love the feeling/burn of not being able to do another rep. Feels sooo good
I get to failure on every exercise I do to build muscle
– Intensity plays a huge role, after the early beginner stage (about 3 months) you need to train at least within 3 reps of failure or closer to maximise muscle growth, most people suck at gauging how close they actually are to failure which is the main reason for their lack of results which is why it's very helpful to train all the way to failure on isolation exercises from time to time.
– As for rep ranges: anywhere from 5-30 can build muscle as long as you're training close enough to failure though 6-12 reps is usually considered the most "practical" range for muscle growth because going too low in reps makes it harder to get enough volume (due to needing more sets) in and has a higher risk of injury whereas higher reps sets (15 or higher) creates more metabolic stress and will be much more difficult to train to failure with because of other limiting factors like mental fatigue, cardiovascular stress, nausea, muscle burn especially on big compound movements like squats, lunges or deadlifts
