You might be confusing jealousy for fear. Super high percentage of westerners come to Thailand for gender change. The longtime girlfriend knows this. You going out on your own and getting around ladyboys can lead to her losing her man. Not for love but for the sex change. WAY more westerners have sex change in Thailand than Thais do. Girls are not dumb. Never met a Thai girl that had major issues with side girlfriends as long as you were paying the bills and caring for her family. You are thinking solely from a male point of view for assumptions. Thai girls have their finger on the pulse way more than straight male expats.
