Sheriff Shihan is a courageous man, in my honest opinion. He has the heart to honour tradition and at the same time, get out of his comfort zone and force himself to MOST of thew TIME, think out of the box sometimes tradition puts us in.
With mutual respect. Thank you for your comment.
My instructor is a MT practitioner and the beginning of the technique is borrowed from MT.
with all due respect sir… that is NOT how a muay thai clinch is done!
the reason a muay thai clinch is effective in controlling a person's full posture by pushing or pulling an opponent at any direction at will..is because it isnt done that way.
"palms at the back of the head(not neck) + both elbows on the opponents chest" ..
there was this vid kit_cope_defense_muay_thai_clinch that would better explain this. i guess we can learn how to escape a muay thai clinch from a muay thai man. : )
Thanks again. Keep training, my friend 🙂
I am sorry if you thought I was questioning your Sensei's ability. I can clearly see he is worth his salt. I was addressing a comment made by HeWasAlButDead. That I thought was negitive. Once more much respect to your club and your Sensei.
I am only the moderator for our academy channel, so I am not sure about my instructor street cred.
You can check out more details if you click the links below the video, in the text, or you can google: "AKBAN".
Respect, my friend
Great vid Sensei, thank's for sharing on the internent Dojo, rei.
I can see that in all your skill and wisdom of what is, and what is not, that you have personally tested your own skill's in battle, like on the street's of LA. or NY. or Philly ect. Because a student of the Art's, expands on an original style or a thought shows he is adapting and changing with his enviorment, and not living in the past, but is showing respect for those that came before him. BY the way where can we see you in action?? what is your name??? Have some respect.
Part 3: Anything else is entirely made up. Not saying it isn't viable but 99% of it is A: Not battle tested and B: Entirely ineffective. You want a traditional experience learn Kobudo and Jujitsu and work on your focus and striking like that in karate or kenpo. Do not forget to train your body to it's peak physical endurance level. The mental aspect comes by proxy. Good luck. My Source for Explanation: Historical Facts and Personal Experience.
Part 2: They trained their body to handle physical and emotional extremes. They also trained in Kobudo same as the samurai. Taijutsu includes jujitsu : Jujutsu (grappling/striking), Judo (throwing/grappling), Aikido (throwing/joint locks) as well as Karate&Kenpo (focusing/striking). They were specialists. Contrary to what you may know. They didn't "do what the samurai could not because of honor" The samurai were trained to win at all cost based on strategy. It wasn't later till they adopted hnr
Part 1:Ninpo is a made up art with no historical basis. Same as Ninjutsu completely made up. The shinobi and kunoichi trained in the available combat techniques against armored soldiers and unarmored combatants. This is known as Taijutsu which literally means Body Technique/Skill.
its Ninpo isnt it? for the life style i mean….. and budo taijutsu is the proper term i belive. plz correct me if im wrong. i used to go to a buj dojo but the economy got me.
Ahh, gotcha. Well.. I'm saying ninjutsu is not real. neither "ninjewtsu". No human can argue this. People caught up in the myth and fantasy of the "ninja" call it that. They are merely uneducated. It honestly shows me straight away whos legit and whos not.
did you not see my spelling? it was a joke . i know there is no such thing as ninJEWtsu.
You are reaching for the term Ninjutsu. So you are well educated I am going to write this in caps for you. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS NINJUTSU. It's not a real martial arts. During the time of the ninja they were trained in tiajutsu which consisted of Karate and Jujitsu later broken down into judo and aikido. Don't believe me? Look it up. This technique is viable against the clinch. Well done in its explanation step by step. Although realistically this is harder as hes throwing knees.
thanks. more to come
Good stuff, guys. Love the video.
that is a powerful throw. ninjewtsu is my favorite art 😉
I will pass it on to my teacher. Thanks for the kind words my friend
Awesome video as always ^^ Hope to get the chance to train with you guys some day.
A suggestion I would like to see for the next video is a series of defense against a jab that is pulled back.
I've been experimenting with it myself in the dojo but would really like your take on it.
Thank you very much. I still believe traditional martial arts have much to teach to modern sports oriented MMA.
You can start these series with "5 Ninjutsu techniques against half clinch" And proceed to "Ninjutsu techniques against full clinch".
Practice safely, my friend
Very interesting.
