Any place in the world that uses speaker wire to feed their power outlets and running from the main lines in town I'm cautious about visiting, I'll stick to Jamaica at least they have the military cruising around the highways looking for Gun Men and Bad Boi's even if they do use speaker wire to power the lights in their resorts, Even the Royalton at $600 US a night had speaker wire running by the pool in Falmouth aka White Sands, never mind the moldy Riu Ochos Rio, what a dump.
Kickboxing is very popular in Thailand and many of them are on female hormones thats not even taking into account the underground street crime going down over there. I used to work for a former politician from there who later came to the U.S. he taught me alot about that place, a dollar goes a long way but its a dirty place but if you're from somewhere like Baton Rouge you can probably navigate it pretty well.

If a foreigner go to other country make sure you understand their way of life, dont bring your macho or western style that could make problem with the local. Every country have different culture, you must know how to fit in.
Moral of the story, stay the heck away from the red light district or the rough part of town in any country. Or you're going to get rolled.
My wife who is Thai, tells me she does not ever want me to go to Thailand. I guess she knows about stuff like this. I have no reason to go to Thailand anyway, so she has nothing to worry about. The only remote chance I would go, is if the company I worked for sent me there, as they have other people, since I work in the fintech sector and Thailand is one of our partner countries.

When I go to Thailand I can almost guarantee that most of my problems are going to be from racist white people from places like the USA, UK, Aussies and so forth.
