Not using freshly made sticky rice dough is a mistake.
The prolonged pounding motion while pulverizing cooked sticky rice into a glutinous dough incorporates air bubbles into the mixture, kind of like beating an egg. Freshly made sticky rice dough is more airy than dried or powder made dough. If you have used freshly made sticky rice dough, your end product would've been far more lighter in texture. Food like these, holiday specialties, are made by Chinese families on the day. They are always fresh, making a holiday feast together is a Chinese family tradition. It is a bounding experience.
Fun Fact the reason the Dragon wasn't the first Zodiac was because the Dragon kept stopping to help others most notably the Rabbit as a result those born in the Year of the Rabbit like me are said to have good luck during the year of the Dragon
Cersei and Jaime are adorable!!!!
bing chillin
I was born the year of the rabbit. More importantly a fire rabbit. I always felt bad for cat.
Just disgusting, I can't believe that been watching this channel knowing what I know about Max. I can't believe I was watching a Californian.
Pig heart…dragon heart…Viking heart?
Beautiful pronunciation…. Much kudos to you. My father learned Mandarin for his business trips. He says it’s no joke and hard to learn.
I’m the year of Dragon… dragons are awesome.
So, it's a holiday fruitcake, before it became the Anglicized gift no one wanted…
As someone who actually likes holiday fruitcake, I dig this a lot.
Sheep
I would suggest making some mooncakes for mid-autumn festival!
interesting, there is a Japanese mochi that they steam in leaves and it gets stuck to the leaf and people eat it off the leaf, I believe it's probably bamboo leaf
supposedly I'm a horse
Good info any time of year. Seeing you eat that reminded me of eating jujubes at the movies as a child
LOLOL miss jujubee’s face on the jujube
Night is young bring on the Juice.
Dude I’m also Pig but in Japan it’s Inoshishi meaning Wild Boar 🙂
Excellent effort on the Chinese pronunciation. Much love from Singapore. My grandma used to slice them into thin rounds, batter and deep fry them after each Chinese New Year. Kinda miss that now that she's passed on. And haha I'm sure you'll be more than able to find some Mou Tai Chinese wine or another "Bai Jiu" (white liquor) in LA Chinatown. That'll put hair wherever you want it (and everywhere else you don't)
