my moka pot, just starts spitting coffee instead of having a nice flow on the start, do you know why does this happen?
I just wipe it with a paper towel adn never use soap. I live don a farm in italy and they would yell at me if I tried lol
Just got a moka pot..do you have to use ground beans and must the holder be fully fill with coffee?
This all seems a lot more complicated than just pouring water into my Mr. Coffee and putting my grounds into a filter paper in the brew basket and pressing the brew button
Very bad mistake not mentioned: no free space should be left, because water wil create channels in coffee. Extraction would not be uniform
Good tips
Not sure why I see so many videos say put in boiling water, I use room temp water and it comes out perfect every time.
I use a heat diffuser on gas cooktop. I have never had a bitter tasting Moka pot coffee. Scorched coffee, just doesn't happen.
Excelent!! Thank you so much.
My Moka has always given me a headache… i don't know why, i drink a lot of coffee made in a variety of ways, but Moka always gives me a headache
#2: dont pack the grounds down!
this rule didn't make sense because professional coffee makers pack their coffee. they even have special tools to do that. I'll packing the my grounds assures the water dilutes thru the grounds. otherwise it will pass without touching the coffee.
How would one use this on an electric stove? Grazie ahead of time.
thank you brother!!!
you also want to level the grounds in the basket
The main problem is not boiling water before or not.
The real problem is always getting a good powder of coffee and put more coffee in the brewer… the video shows a poor quantity… specially for a 6 cups Moka brewer. I use 7 grams for cup at least. So you have to put not less than 42 grams or more into the brewer
Simple….
I had a Biallita Moka pot, always cooked it on a medium heat but only after I preheated the water as other videos said to do, and pulled it off the heat as soon as it started to flow out of the tube, I tried all sorts of grinds and coffee brands, I never got it quite right, I got it to the point of it not being bad though.
That pot broke a couple of weeks ago, so after watching and reading a lot of stuff on the internet I decided to once again try the Moka style, but this time I went with the Biallita Brikka pot instead, hoping that the pressure valve located on the tube would work as they claimed, and since I found it on sale for $35 dollars, I thought why not?
I followed the directions by putting and discarding 3 cups of coffee through it, then I drank the 4th…Oh my god! On the very first attempt I got perfect espresso flavored coffee that I come to expect from Italian restaurants and coffee bars!
While the crema that the Brikka wasn't as much as some of the pro's shops have it, (but more than the regular Moka which didn't have any) I have found out that a lot pro espresso making people don't even care for the crema, and actually will spoon it out of their espresso before drinking it! I think after having espresso with and without the crema I couldn't tell any difference! So, I think crema is overrated.
All I was using for beans was beans I got from Costco called Cameron's Velvet Moon Espresso Roast which I had used on the old Moka pot but again the Brikka brought out the espresso flavor that the regular Moka pot could not. I don't get into going to a roaster and buying $25 bag of 12 ounces of beans, I only buy grocery store beans, which I thought was the reason why the regular Moka pot never excelled, but now I know that wasn't the reason.
My valve leaks and the spout is sputtering, do I replace the valve or can it be fixed?
Please reply .. my moka pot is leaking from the valve .. is that normal coz no coffee in there after boiling
never had a decent cup of coffee from a moka pot
Moe-ka pot ?
It’s pronounced Mokka
In Italy we usually make a little pile when putting the coffee powder on the filter, just like a little mountain, even one centimeter above the level of the filter, it doesn't matter if the coffe powder is spilled, fuck it you can clean it afterwards.
And here's the way on how to make the coffee creamy just like we take it in the morning at a bar (the equivalent of a café): https://youtu.be/lyLSmpLwj2Y
The video shows 5 spoons of sugar but you can also have less, 3 if you want.
fuckkk i thought i was weird because I wasnt using espresso grind
Great video. What setting on the de’longhi do you have your grinder set to for Moka pot? Thanks!
What coffee grinder should I buy to make moka pot with?
Background music is way too forward.
