The man was the best graphic artist of all time, his works has fascinated me for over 50 years. Nothing comes close to his tessalations and his later works.
The designs are found in the beautiful tiling of the Mosques too .He surely was a conceptualist as well as researcher re the mental & neuro – Alzheimers / FND ? And then there's"Dark Side of the Moon "The nature of visual perception & learning ] & disability ?A true visionary & treasure internationally .

MC Escher has very Antoni Guadi type qualities in his art where by he incorporates the symmetry of nature and tessellation into geometric brilliance. Very inspirational.

How good to see Prof Ian Stuart for the first time. I appreciate that he is a very creative mathmatitian. I recognised his style again immediate. Who better to discuss/break-down the unique meticulousness of M.C. Escher.
Listening to him about 15 years ago – BBC4 – In our Time, talking about Phi (e= mc 2) at that time, added a completely new dimension to a martial art I was practicing, Aikido. I include his info into my style, still, even today.

I’m not an artist, but I’m a musician and I’ve always wondered how an M.C Escher piece of art would “sound” like.
I reckon it would sound like Ligeti’s music though.
@5imone5 I wish you posted more of what you like and understood.

What's the background music from?
Most people don't realize it's the other way around.
He drew Impossible Objects from being intrigued by the work of the Penrose professors.
He drew the "Infinity" Hyperbolic Discs / Circle Figures from being inspired by Coxeter's illustration of the idea (who isn't even mentioned here).
