Can you do Schesir cat food? I alternately gave my babies KitCat & Schesir wet food. So far I seem to find anyone does review on Schesir wet & dry food.
I have my cat on Royal canin and In Australia the price has sky rocketed on wet food and I don’t know what’s a better cheaper option.
When my cat was a kitten I fed her Royal Canin for kittens. I would mix canned and dry food and she did really well. Now I feed my cat dry food only Royal Canin for dental that you can only get from the veterinarian. It’s in a purple bag. They sell another one for dental that you can get from a pet store it’s in a dark grey bag but I haven’t tried that one yet. Don’t know the difference between those lol

I would Never give my cat Carrigena! Unfortunately you can't away from other bad ingredients. I always look at the Ingredients. I would Not buy Cat food with Carrieginan. I did buy a couple but I threw them away.

It's just so upsetting that vets still recommend them, I've read on Reddit something and some implications that vets getting money from those companies. Imagine pet parents with health conditions buying this shitty dry food from Royal Canin.

Royal is among the worst pet foods. just read the labels:
1) Many carbohydrates
2) Non-transparency on the fats used (very important)
3) Use of antioxidants and chemical preservatives: BHA and BHT (E320, E321) propyl gallate (E310), propylene glycol (E1520). VERY DANGEROUS!
These foods have the function of making the animal sick in the medium – long term so as to bring wading to the company and the veterinarian.
My Vet prescribed royal canin renal A for my older cat. Said it would be ok for my other cat to eat as well. After 6-7 months on this food my older cat started losing weight and ended up losing TWO of his ten pounds. Vet said it was just age related. Finally he just stopped eating and drinking. And within days my female also stopped eating and she had no health issues. At that point i found an article about other cats suffering the same symptoms on this food so i stopped feeding it and switched to mostly wet food with a different kibble and they both started eating again. It took several months but my older cat gained his weight back and they both returned to health. I would never feed royal canin again!
Can you do a video on low magnesium foods with good quality food products?
I'm very frustrated their use such crap like corn and wheat in the food. Also they have Carrageenan so yes their urinary so will help with crystals but then I may have to expect cancer. 🙁
My cats hated that food, to the point of refusing to eat. They smelled the food and tried to bury it.
God women will you ever bring up that cats can actually drink water! All my cats love drinking water, have 2 water fountains…every pet parent should have one. I wouldn't necessarily go with this brand if your cat is healthy, but for specific medical issues you can't risk your cats health on some trendy new brand. My baby has urinary issues, and this was recommended by my very competent vet. Also if you cat gets a block, an emergency vet hospital and then vet stay will run around 2k, so it's worth the price to pay for this food. If your cat has medical problems, listen to your vet, not a YouTube with no training.
I've found the UTI formula from Purina one to be effective. I think lower magnesium and calcium are what works. I'm inclined to think the royal canin would be similar. I do use wet food at least once a week tho.
I have my cats on royal canine hydrolyzed protein dry food and royal canine PR protein wet food. Those are both Rx diets because my cats have immune/digestive issues that would benefit from the diet. What are your opinions on those? They cannot have raw type wet/dry food brands like instinct as it almost caused my autoimmune disorder cat to die of anemia several years ago.

My cat was put on the RC S/O because of urinary crystals, neutered male. I started feeding better/organic brands wet food, and limited organic kibble, all grain free. He then gained good weight, had TONS more energy, and his coat is amazing. This fixed the urinary crystals. Saved much $$$, and have a way healthier/happy middle-aged cat. Working towards a homemade diet, and even the commercial organic food is a little less $$$ than the RC.
Carrageenan is ground up barnacles they put it in cream, & ice cream,claiming it makes cream creamier.Maybe that’s why so many people are struggling with IBS ,ulcerative colitis etc.etc.

All commercial cat food is the same: convenient, makes the cat addicted to it and keeps it alive without any major drama…
One can make very healthy food for their cat with the trade-offs of being more time consuming and the cat may not like it, especially when it is already addicted to commercial cat food…
Also, there is no way to tell if it contains all the nutrients a cat needs, especially vitamins and minerals.
Taurine is a must in every cat food because cats cannot synthesize this particular amino acid in their body and its deficiency can lead to heart and eye problems…
Honestly, I feed my cat with Royal Canin Sensible as my cat has a slightly weaker digestive system due to FIV. As this video has mentioned, this brand has formulas for cats with different dietary needs. We feed our cat with wet food once in the morning before we go to work, and once when we come back from work, with kibble in between to avoid spoilage, especially during the hot season…
And luckily, my cat drinks a lot of water and urinate quite a lot so at this stage we are quite happy with its condition…
I wish I can find a grain-free alternative for my cat but at this stage, I have not found anything as such while also taking care of my cat’s digestive condition…
One thing that affects vets recommending RC and other big name brand is sponsorship. Looking from a vets perspective, you go to vet school with no nutritional experience, the school is sponsored by Royal Canin. All you learn is science supporting their brand and get to know using their brand. You learn about digestive systems but when it comes to feeding they only hear about the great Royal Canin. You may also be sold RC food for cheap or given samples to give your pets. I mean you are a poor student with a lot of loans, of course you take it and your school keeps saying how great it is!
You graduate and go to work at a clinic that’s sponsored by Hill’s. You learn about the great things drom Hill’s Nutrition. You may start your own practice and all the foods you know are Hill’s and RC. So you contact them, get sponsored and start selling them at your clinic while getting equipment and support from the brand.
These brands say how dangerous raw is and especially RC has talked about how their processed wheat is better digested and more nutrisious for cats than meat… so why would a vet then go against everything they’ve ever known.

Idk I switched diets and my cats eat till they puke and stuff. Low energy. I used to think Royal canin was evil but they seemed healthier on canin. To be fair we are valuing our casual knowledge over expertise when we look at an ingredient list and go “oh wow wheat, cats are obligate carnivores!” And dismiss 50 years of research or so
I really appreciate this review. My vet recommended Royal Canin hydrolyzed protein formula for one of my 3 year old cats that has some chronic intestinal issues. We’ve tried many other foods and treatments in the past and this dry food seems to help more than others. I found it to be more affordable in the dry form and I do feed it to all of my cats, in addition to a commercially produced wet food.
I would like to see a review of Blue Wilderness grain free foods. My cats have always done well on them.
One of my cats struggles with anemia. When I put her on a diet of Royal Canin and Fancy Feast wet foods she started gaining muscle mass and her skin and coat looks a lot healthier. From my experience, I would give the food a ten out of ten for meeting bodily needs. In regards to price, I would give them a four out of ten. In regards to taste, I have to give it a ten out of ten because my cats wolf this stuff down. Oddly enough, their favorite food to eat is Friskies Extra Gravy and Chunks. Royal Canin may want to consider improving their gravy formula.

I personally do not like royal canin .but unfortunately my cat doesn't vomit on it .with gastral cat food .I don't like the ingredients in it . Very expensive for cheap crap fillers . gluten

My adult cat eats friskies wet and purina one dry. My kitten eats many different brands wet kitten food and purina one dry both drink water,ofcourse.

Our 22 year old had kidney disease for many years and he was prescribed a dry food from the vets. He wouldn’t touch Royal Canin though.
