Sadly, Jet’s family thai market, Bangkok has permanently closed (according to both Google and Yelp).
Jet made it all seem so easy! One thing I like to do before digging in, is to sprinkle in some of those reserved bean sprouts on top and squeeze on a little more fresh lime juice, mix lightly, then eat! That last little touch seems to make a big difference!
Where can we get d written recipe?
4 tablespoons of sugar? No thanks and I don't care how authentic this is if I get this in a restaurant I'll probably never go back again.
I made this recipe in 2021, and this is what I did:
3.5 Tbspoon fish sauce
4-5 tbspoon brown sugar
1 tbspoon tamarind concentrate and 3 tbspoon water
1 tbspoon rice vinegar
1 tbspoon lime juice
2 teaspoon Sambal oelek
This tasted great to me and will be my go to recipe! Thanks to everyone who commented about diluting the taramind. Also, you can sub the Sambal oelek for sriracha
Did homeboy just call an enameled cast iron pan , sexy?
Jet is the best.
Anyone else try this and fail miserably?
hhmmm, I will say that's not authentic Padthai. That's more like western style pad thai. THe authentic padthai is the best you all, not this pale looking padthai.
Why put tofu in?if not is that ok ?
This guy has basically the best attitude
my man wants to hit that
this vid sux.. its like a shortcut on how to cook hamburger
I am a Pad Thai expert now. Great Vid! Headed to the store now to get some ingredients
I just made this! I made a vegetarian version instead. Here's a couple of things I did differently in case you want to do the same. I bought a bag of brussel sprouts (pre packaged). In a large wok I used an entire bag of rice stick noodles (i think he uses a lot less) and I also included the entire bag of brussel sprouts at the end when he "puts them to bed lol". So instead of a little bit of tofu, i used an entire pack of extra firm tofu (i didnt buy the baked version) and i cut them into small little cubes. The tofu i used is in the shape of a brick (so not the large packettes). You definitely need to increase the amount of pad thai sauce u make. I ended up putting 2.5 table spoons of tamarind and 8 tablespoons of water to dilute the tamarind so its more liquidy. I used 5.5 tablespoons of sugar, the same amount of vinegar he put in, and about 1.5 tbsp of lime. I dont eat fish sauce so instead i substituted for soy sauce. Initially i used 4 tbsp but it needed more so i added 2 tbsps to the entire dish. Im not a fan of super salty food so you can add/remove as you like. All in all, this dish made about 6-8 servings. I kept 2 eggs in it which i found was exactly perfect in my much larger portion (you could do 1 more if u want but not necessary). I hope this helps! Over all its really tasty — i would say next time im going to add more veggies like bok choy, broccoli and some round sliced carrots.
THANK YOU to all those in the comment sections that said to dilute the tamarind otherwise i would have never have done that!
Cilantro! Where are you!?
Sometimes I use peanut butter protein powder in at before the veggies. :B
Next He will teach her, how to make bang bang chick …in.

I loved the recipe and the presentation. I'm going to share your recipe on my channel and tell them it's yours and cook it to show my viewers how its done by a professional chef. Congratulations. this is Chef Garcia from Hollywood.
She sounds so childish…
Excellent recipe yamme.
I am Thai from Thailand, That is not real original PAD THAI.
There is something in the air…
Omg are you soooooo kidding that's like wow omg kidding
I was expecting him to speak English like a foreigner and then … Bam! He spoke like an American ;-D
That Brandy bitch was annoying…..nice pad thai!
I would let the proteins cook first before adding eggs since proteins take a longer time to cook.
Yea, I read somewhere back a ways, that olives & olive oil, are items that is not really ever used in asian dishes, no matter what the country. I like to cook asian at times, but I'm not in a location that I can cook the way I want to right now, but trying to decide what oil to use for stir-frys, etc. Don't want to use soy, canola or corn oils, since they are usually GMO products, & I've thought about other light tasting oils , & have come up with cold pressed safflower oil OR Avocado oil. Heard someone say Grapeseed oil. ANY SUGGESTIONS??***
This guy has a Babyface
Thank you chef
I love pad thai. I do not like the peanuts in it.
There are So many things wrong with this. Pad thai sauce is fish sauce, tamarind, and palm sugar. You cook the protein first, then remove it. You also cook the bean sprout with the pad thai. Also, it's supposed to be garlic chive not scallion.
That is NOT how to make a pad thai sauce.

my first attempt at pad Thai went about as bad as possible. my tamarind paste has chunks of tamarind in it that wouldn't break down. I didn't know to include white sugar in the mix, my pad Thai tasted like crap…. so I just threw it all in the trash. #FoodFail
Thank you for taking the mystery out of Pad Thai !
