Small portable scales are now a thing and you should definitly have one. Statements like 1 scoop off coffee is about 16 grams is SOOOOO NOT CORRECT! Density of coffee can vary wildly from batch to batch and bean to bean. DONT USE SCOOPS.

When I was getting into Aeropress brewing I stumbled on this video and at the time I thought it was perhaps a little stereotypical Millennial coffee snob. Now I roll with a scale and subscribe to Holler Mountain every two weeks. I picked up a bag on the road when I was getting low on my usual beans. So good!

this actually turned out to be the best recipe to date that i have found
I was considering getting one of these, but this tool talked me out of it.
I understood the measuring, the grinding and the heating. After this the significant stuff was incomprehensible. I am using my daughters aero press for the first time. Damn where is the sodding basket?

easier to use a french press. More compact/less stuff than an aeropress too.
If you bought an aeropress for backpacking like I did:
0.) Leave all the BS accessories at home
1.) Place filter in aeropress. Attach
2.) Add 1 heaping scoop of your favorite pre ground coffee on top of filter
3.) Jet boil your water until visibly bubbling
4.) Place aeropress over cup
5.) Poor water leaving small gap, wait like 3 minutes
6.) Plunge that shit
7.) Enjoy a fresh cup of uncomplicated normal ass coffee!
