I think it would be cool to make a 3D version of Lak… as something to sit on a desk/shelf. Doing all the flowers and detail in the hair would be fun
Not sure if you will read this, but what about using actual lace for the background stuck to the wood?
I thank you so much you had given me some inspiration for wooden art project that would love to do because I have a block of wood just like you but I'm planning on using don't hate me for this acrylic paint because that's all I have I never learned how use oil base but I'm thinking about doing some 3D objects with the two in this watching a video gave me some inspiration and I thank you so much for that even afterwards I might send you a picture of it too

Watching Baylee sketch and go through her thought process makes me relate so hard cuz that's what I do and then when I have to go through with my complicated idea I end up getting bored and I rush a bit of the details lol. I dont know if she'd do that but it made me relate like that

Hiya, how do you or anyone here really handle pushing through the ugly phase of an artwork?
PS: I am not saying that this or any of your Artwork is ugly, that's subjective and I don't think it is.
This video brought back memories. I once did a series of mixed media paintings using watercolour, gauche, powdered pigments, acrylic medium, glitter and glue. Plus of course a few embellishments of beads, rhinestones, mirrors, confetti and anything else I thought would be fun for the particular piece.
I also did a few sculptures using clay. One was of a bird in a tree with berries growing on the tree and the bird had a berry in its beak. I based that one of a photo I'd taken a few years before.
They were lots of fun and your experiments here brought back lots of memories. I still have lots of the embellishments here and could be in danger of doing it all again one day.

Have you heard of Tina Yu, she does amazing sculptures, this project makes me think of her.
small suggestion: you could paint the background a light pink with white vertical stripes to make it blend less with the ribbons
Suggestion, look up Ace of Clay if you’re interested in sculpting
Another suggestion try a pink – purple marbling effect for the background in this with gold edging
Maybe the bows should be a darker pink? Looks great though!

Oooo Baylee you should so check out Tina Yu on YT for this project. She’s an amazing artist and while her style is very different a lot of her work contains similar components to what you were talking about. She does a lot of the wooden portraits, gemstones, and pastels. She may inspire you a little.
